Or they could go read an article from a few years ago where there was a drought across canada and America where there wasn’t enough feed so ranchers slaughtered cows at insane rates. So much that they collapsed the beef market. Times were good for those who liked BBQ. But that was short sighted because it can take years.. YEARS to replenish a herd. Some ranchers culled 80% of their herds. This is nothing more than desperate choices coming full circle. Anyone in the industry knew this was coming.

Isn’t that exactly the opposite way of how supply and demand works?

Is this old fool an actual idiot?!

    3. How on earth do they think immigrants are herding cattle from South America to the United States?

      How?

I have nothing to add to that.

    4. Bessent must wake up each morning thinking “I wonder what bat shit crazy theory I will run with today?”

So… If the FDA inspected the meat industry more, costs would be lower because diseases would be caught before they were widespread.

    6. How incredibly fucking stupid. It’s even sadder because he thinks the trump cult followers will believe him. And the absolute worst part is that many will.

    7. They ride the cattle in those COWavans.
Tap tap tap….is this thing on?
      I’ll see myself out.

What a weird thing to say while republicans in NH are trying to cut regulations to have USDA stop inspecting beef

Do you know how stupid you must think your audience is to say something this asinine? FFS!

    10. Please stop trying bullshit us. We all know your orange lord is to blame. You all are traitors to our democracy and should be treated as such, like they did in the earlier times of our nation.

despite how asinine that is, weren’t we also bolstering Argentinian beef imports recently?

    12. What in the ever loving fuck is Scotty talking about?

I think it’s really time to look past the suits and the smug self righteous demeanor and start to consider the idea that these fucking assholes are on drugs.

    13. The implication here is that diseased animals being slaughtered for food is a bad idea.

If only we had an agency that has, as part of its mandate, responsibility for providing standards and inspections to enforce those standards specifically to avoid diseased animals from being made into food. Further, if we had such an agency, surely we wouldn’t hire as the man responsible for overseeing it someone who eats roadkill, nor would we reduce funding to that agency such that they had to suspend inspections and enforcement of meat safety standards.

      Wait.

    14. Do Fox viewers KNOW they are just watching fan fiction, or are they gobbling this utterly obvious horse shit right up?

      What the actual fuck!!!

trunt freely said he was allowing Argentina import cows that may be diseased and that he was “oh well” about it.

I’ve been on about losing ground when we focus on their hypocrisy but for fuck’s sake!

Yes, because crossing the border is so easy that you can do it with a cattle caravan. /s

Americans are perfectly capable of making our own sick cattle. American cattle get American brucellosis from American elk. (NOT bison. That’s a major misconception.)

    18. How stupid do these people think their viewing audience is? Like yeah, immigrants who barely have enough water to make it across the desert and over the border alive are definitely bringing herds of *cattle* with them. What is this guy smoking?

    19. So the Trump admin has 1) not secured the border and 2) made border security so bad, that you can sneak a heard of cattle thru?

      Wow

    20. How did they sneak those cattle in? Do they just ride them across the border? This guy is just as dumb as his husband.

    21. Yes, I brought my diseased cattle and sold them to outbid an American on a nice house, where I started eating pets.
